General liability for a one man shop, is probably going to run you around $ 1500 a year, if you do NO flat roofs or hot tar.Workers comp for roofers, runs 25% of payroll, or $ 2500, whichever is HIGHER.
Both of those are AUDITABLE, so be sure to compare both the premium, AND the actual rate they are charging you.

There was a flat stretch of roof on the sides of this airplane hanger, about three stories up. It looked like any other rubber roof — flat, gray, whatever. But when I got to the top of the ladder and put my foot out to step on it, I realized that years of disuse allowed water to pour down the curved part and go right underneath the flat roof. The result was a giant waterbed, rippling out at the slightest touch.Needless to say, in my quest to not die, I didn’t venture across.
